Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 March 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Trade Tracker ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our application on any platform — including iOS, Android, and web browsers.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and display name via our authentication provider.
Trading Journal Data: Trade entries, notes, psychological flags, quality scores, and related data you voluntarily log in the app. This data is stored securely on our servers and is only accessible by you.
Payment Information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data — see stripe.com/privacy.
Usage Data: We may collect anonymised analytics about how features are used (e.g. which sections are visited), device type, operating system, and crash reports, to improve the app.
Subscription Data: Your current plan tier and subscription status are stored to gate access to premium features.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Trade Tracker application.
To authenticate your identity and secure your account.
To process payments and manage your subscription.
To generate personalised analytics and insights from your trade journal data.
To respond to support enquiries and technical issues.
To send important transactional communications (e.g. billing receipts, security alerts). We do not send unsolicited marketing emails.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit and encryption at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

Your trade journal entries are private and tied to your authenticated account. We do not share your personal trading data with third parties for advertising, analytics resale, or any commercial purpose.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: Trusted third-party processors (e.g. Stripe for payments, authentication providers) who operate under strict data processing agreements.
Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the new entity under the same privacy protections.

5. Mobile-Specific Disclosures (iOS & Android)

When you use the Trade Tracker app on a mobile device:

We do not access your device camera, microphone, contacts, location, or photo library.
The app does not collect device identifiers (IDFA, GAID) for advertising purposes.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or tracking frameworks.
On iOS, we comply with Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. We do not track users across apps or websites.
On Android, we comply with Google Play's data safety requirements.
Push notifications, if implemented, will only be sent with your explicit permission and are used solely for account-related updates.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

On web browsers, we use cookies and local storage solely for authentication (session tokens) and user preferences (e.g. dark mode, selected trading pairs). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

You may clear cookies via your browser settings. Doing so may require you to log in again.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request deletion of your account and all associated data. You can do this directly in Settings → Delete Account, or by contacting us.
Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain types of data processing.
Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

These rights are available under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, CCPA (California), and other applicable data protection laws.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (via Settings or by contacting us), all your personal data — including trade journal entries — will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

Anonymised, aggregated data (with no personally identifiable information) may be retained for internal analytics and service improvement.

9. Children's Privacy

Trade Tracker is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United Kingdom, United States, or the European Union. In all cases, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you via in-app notification or email if the changes are material. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
